Three
multinational firms choose NexgenEuro
to automate their BPCS®euro conversions
London,
September 16, 1999 Fraser Herrick, General Manager
of Nexgen Europe, Inc., today announced that three multinational
firms using the BPCS® ERP system have signed contracts
to use Nexgens intelligent euro conversion software,
NexgenEuro, to manage their transition to the euro currency.
The three firms are:
- Siemens
Building Technologies (Landis & Staefa Division),
a worldwide leader in building controls, electronics,
security systems, engineering and general contracting
- DuPont
Pharmaceutical, which is involved with research, development
and delivery of pharmaceuticals to treat AIDS, cardiovascular
disease, central nervous system disorders, cancer and
arthritis-related disorders. The company is also a world
leader in medical imaging
- Agribrands
Europe, a worldwide leader in the production and marketing
of animal feed and other agricultural and nutrition products
for a variety of species in 16 countries on four continents
"We
reviewed other euro conversion products and found NexgenEuro
to be the most complete and the most accurate," reported
Géry Gedlek, Manager of Information Technology at Siemens.
"We have really been impressed by the intelligence
Nexgen has built into its conversions."
Speaking
for Nexgen, Chief Technology Officer Dan Mitchell explained,
"Other euro conversion approaches oversimplify the task
of euro-enabling BPCS®. For example, customers should
expect balanced ledgers, proper rounding and no manual adjustments
after conversion. We predicted that the competing tools would
fail to address the complexities of BPCS®."
"Another
highlight of Nexgens conversions was their runtime performance,"
Gedlek added. "No sophisticated tuning of our AS/400s
has been necessary to perform our conversions in a very reasonable
time." Nexgens RPG-based conversions use native
file access and can often convert large BPCS® databases
in just a few hours.
NexgenEuro
file conversions are available for all versions of BPCS®,
including V4.05CD and V6.X. A simulation module is available
to pilot the "big bang" conversion before actual
cutover to the euro. A customer/vendor module is available
to ease the transition of when trading partners change over
to the euro. A triangulation module is also available to make
BPCS® transactions EMU compliant.
Since
1990, Nexgen has provided implementation and custom modification
services to users of SSAs BPCS®, interBiz
Solutions (a division of Computer Associates International,
Inc.) PRMS, and J.D. Edwards® World and
OneWorld ERP systems. In 1997, Nexgen introduced its
highly successful Focus/2000 automated Y2K conversion
tool for BPCS® and for PRMS. In 1998, Nexgen introduced
NexgenEuro for BPCS®.
