Nexgen
Software Technologies Welcomes Alwyn Francis as General Manager
of Services
Foresees
strong services growth in 2000
as manufacturers extend their ERP systems after 1999's Y2K
lockdown
Naperville,
IL, March 3, 2000 — Rick Halsten, President of Nexgen
Software Technologies, Inc. announced today that Alwyn Francis
has been appointed General Manager of Services. "Nexgen
is delighted to welcome Alwyn to our team. He is well known
in our marketplace and brings a wealth of experience and insight
to this position," said Halsten.
Nexgen
is the premier provider of services and software solutions
to manufacturers and distributors using Enterprise Resource
Planning (ERP) software from System Software Associates (BPCS®),
from Computer Associates (PRMS™) and from J.D. Edwards
(WorldSoftware™ and OneWorld™).
In
his last position, Francis started the U.S. services division
of Pacific Systems in 1996, focusing on the delivery of ERP
solutions and application extensions to the ERP backbone,
such as Data Warehousing and Business-to-Business E-Commerce.
The
year of e-Commerce and Customer Relationship Management
Francis
foresees a strong year for Nexgen services in 2000: "It's
no secret that many manufacturers and distributors locked
down their mission-critical ERP systems after completing their
Y2K conversions. Now, they're ready to extend and enhance
their ERP systems. There's pent-up demand for today's essential
e-commerce and customer relationship management solutions.
Several customers are already pursuing these solutions--including
our Domino-based NexgenCommerce--and many others are poised
to proceed."
About
Alwyn Francis
Alwyn
Francis has worked in Information Technology on both the user
and vendor sides since 1985.
After
graduating from Thames University in London, U.K., he started
his professional computing career with the U.K.'s leading
secondary windows manufacturing company. One of his major
achievements was developing product configuration software
that allowed the field based architects to input the specifications
of the windows, doors, etc., directly into their portable
computers. This information was then downloaded, via tape,
to the company's midrange MPS & MRP systems. Among the
many business sectors in which he has worked during his career
are manufacturing, finance and petrochemicals.
Francis
was a lead consultant for one of Europe's largest systems
integrators, Sema Group, in their IBM Midrange Application
Support Division. He also worked in sales and marketing for
Synon (now part of Sterling Commerce, which was recently acquired
by Computer Associates), the leading vendor of software development
tools for the AS/400.
